Miscellaneous In the beginning of November he rode two laps in the Criterium de la Comunidad Valenciana. One lap alone and one with the peloton. He will not be back in the professional peloton, however, he might participate in paralympic competitions.


2001

Kelme - Costa Blanca

Miscellaneous In the middle of February he and his twin brother were run down by a car during training. He was in coma. He had a brain haemorrhage, a damaged thoracic cavity, a damaged lung, broken ribs, broken arms, a broken shinbone and a broken fibula. His twin brother was killed.
After one month in coma he opened his eyes. His condition was still serious.
In the beginning of May, he started rehabilitation. Intellectually he is doing well, however, he does not want to talk about cycling. He was not yet told that his brother was killed in the accident.
In the middle of May he was moved from the hospital to a rehabilitation centre.
In December he rode 20 metres on his bike. He wants to ride again, however, he knows that it will take a long time.
