In the end of February, Belgian police found forbidden drugs in his home. He was arrested and taken in for questioning.
He was immediately fired from the Domo-Farm Frites team.
Rumours say that he told the judge that some of the drugs were for his dog.
In the end of March he the Ligue Vélocipédique Belge suspended him for six months due to the drugs found in his home.
In the end of June the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled the suspension "illegal". He is now free to race again.
In the middle of August a disciplinary commission of the Flemish Government banned him from riding in races in Flanders for six months.
He will ride for the new Quick Step team the next 2 seasons.

In the end of July Lampre suspended him. The reason was that he didn't show up to training camps and didn't respond to fax, telephone calls or anything else.
In the end of August he held a press conference where he told that it's very unlikely that he will ride again this season.
